Text~~How Loud is a Decibel?

The decibel scale is a logarithmic scale based on multiples of 10. Therefore 10dB is 10 times more intense (loud) than 0dB and 20dB is 10x10 or 100 times more intense than 0dB.
Some so called Personal Attack Alarms provide an output of only 120 dB, our smallest alarm is 130dB which means it is 10 times as intense (loud) and our loudest alarm is 138dB or 63 times as intense (loud) than an alarm rated at 120dB.

The table below shows the approximate decibel level of some common sounds.
